Getting To The Venue
Yew Tree Lane is off the A523 (London Road) Stockport to Macclesfield road. Travelling from Stockport or Buxton on the A6, take the A523 at the Rising Sun pub, Hazel Grove towards Poynton. At the large double roundabout in the centre of Poynton travel straight ahead (towards Macclesfield) and take the second left into Dickens Lane, opposite a bus stop and signed to the Leisure Centre. Yew Tree Lane is the third left along Dickens Lane, just after a traffic island and is signed to the Leisure Centre. The leisure centre is on the right hand side in the same grounds as Poynton High School.
Poynton Leisure Centre is 5.8 miles from Stockport railway station, and 1.3 miles from Poynton station. Northern Rail services from Manchester to Stoke-on-Trent are the only services which stop at Poynton, travelling from the south change at either Stoke-on-Trent or Macclesfield for connecting services, from other directions change at Stockport or Manchester Piccadilly. Taxis are available from Stockport and Macclesfield railway stations.
From the platforms at Stockport turn right at the bottom of the stairs along the subway to the Booking Hall entrance. Taxis are available outside the Booking Hall entrance.
A half hourly Northern Rail service operates from Stockport to Hazel Grove (3.2 miles from Poynton Leisure Centre) on the Manchester to Buxton line. Taxis can be arranged from Hazel Grove railway station through local taxi companies, such as Lynx Taxis on 0161 483 1099.
Poynton is 8.5 miles from Manchester Airport, there are no direct buses though you could use one of the local taxi companies, the average fare is approximately £17.
