Description
LOCOMOTIVE NAMEPLATE “DUMBLETON HALL, as carried by Collett designed 4-6-0 Hall Class, built Swindon. Emerging to traffic in March 1929, numbered 4920, allocations included Reading, Taunton, Newton Abbot, St Philips Marsh, Bristol Barrow Road. Withdrawn December 1965. This plate was purchased from Swindon Works early 1966 by the vendor, this plate is just as he received it, he has never touched it, and thinks he paid £30 for it, so Swindon paint job on splasher etc etc. 4920 escaped the cutters torch being sold to Woodhams Barry Dock, she languished on here until purchased for preservation. NEVER BEEN OFFERED FOR SALE BEFORE.
NOTE:Â To all Harry Potter fans, Dumbleton Hall has been completely overhauled and is now on long term loan to Warner Brothers Studio in Tokyo, Japan in their Harry Potter exhibition.
